Two Rows of Stars Shadow's molt is progressing nicely. Tonight he has two rows of stars,
one down each flank. Another starry feather has appeared centered on his upper
breast, and he is growing new wing coverts and new feathers on his shoulders.
I only
stand like this when I'm playing. This silly, fluffed up pose shows my brand
new stars.
Look at
the covert feathers on my upper right wing. They are black, iridescent, and
rimmed in tan. Soon my primary and secondary wing feathers will be replaced
with feathers like these.
