17, 2003 -- 25 Days Old Shadow discovered water! Stood on one leg for a nap.
Tonight Shadow was given water for the first time in a small mayonnaise jar lid.
When he saw the water, he immediately went wild! He began dipping his beak in
the water, prying in it, and walking in it. After several moments of standing
near the jar lid with his beak wide open and then shaking his wings as if he was
bathing, he found out that he could actually drink. Later he was given a small
water bowl in his cage, and it kept him occupied until bedtime. He has decided
that water is a wonderful new toy indeed!
This new
object looks very interesting! I wonder what it does?
My folks
call this stuff "water." I love it! I can make it move, and I can splash
it all over the place. I can even walk in it and get it on my feathers. Water
is the best toy I have seen yet.
