9, 2003 -- Seventeen Days Old
Can fly across rooms and can land much better.
While at Grandma's house today, Shadow flew several times all the way across her
sewing room. Today he had better flight control and was landing wherever he aimed
to go. When he returned home, he flew back and forth from daddy to mom. Jeremy
tried to record it on video tape, but Shadow was so fast that he only got small
clips of him in flight.
This evening, Shadow
decided that dad's video camera was a wonderful new toy. He pried and pecked
every part of it. Later when he went to bed in his nest, he warbled and twittered
happily in his sleep after a day of mischief.
No way
am I letting dad have this video camera back! Look at all the buttons to pry!

flown and played until I am now very tired. You can see my white throat as I
rest. |
